LFAI Access to Justice Workshop Series

LFAI realized the need to create a space for Fellows to come together to collectively learn the “how to’s” and draw from the methodologies of accessing legal mechanisms and rights based approaches used by their peers across sectors. This need formed the basis of the launch of the Access to Justice Workshop Series in 2004. Since then, the Fellow driven workshops have included thought leaders, practitioners, and other friends of Ashoka from the field.

As the following list of previous workshops will show, a wide range of topics are covered:

  • "Right to Information in the New Nepal" March 2007. Kathmandu.
  • "Right to Information: A Tool for Combating Corruption in Governance,” January 2006. New Delhi.
  • "Access to Justice for Persons with Mental Illness," August 2005. Kolkata.
  • "Legal Strategies and Tools to Impact Social Change," March 2005. Bangalore.
  • "Legal Statues and Provisions Relating to the Rights of Widows in Nepal," August 2004. Kathmandu.
  • "Legal Strategies and Tools to Impact Social Change," April 2004. New Delhi.
