Ashoka Housing for All to Host Workshop on Best Practices on July 4, 2011

Ashoka HFA in partnership with Academy for Sustainable Habitat Research and Management (ASHRAM) is hosting a workshop bringing together developers, civil sector organizations, architects, designers, manufacturers and certification specialists to create a framework for the Best Practices.

The goal of this meeting is to catalyse the creation of a set of best practices for affordable housing nationwide. The meeting’s hands-on and participant-driven agenda allows for all the various stakeholders in affordable housing to voice what is important to include in a best practices framework; we want to trigger discussions and touch off debates from the moment the workshop begins.

The outcome of the workshop will address some fundamental questions:

  1.     What is important in affordable housing and should therefore be considered in best practices?
  2.     How can best practices be successfully implemented?
  3.     What is the possible framework for a workable solution to the problems plaguing the affordable housing sector?
