Youth Venture, in partnership with Pravah (an organization co-founded by Ashoka Fellow Asraf Patel, working towards building youth leadership for social change, with considerable experience in  design and implementation of inspiring youth development interventions), offers the Change Looms Program. 

Change Looms is an initiative to recognize and deepen the efforts of young changemakers between the ages of 17-27 who have launched compelling social ventures.  Change Looms conducts a national search and selection, and offers finalists capacity building through a week-long development center, mentoring by leading social entrepreneurs, fellowship with other dynamic young changemakers, and a financial grant presented at a national ceremony. 

Change Looms has come from Youth Venture and Pravah’s shared vision that young people have a powerful vision for society and their common future, and can benefit from more intensive capacity building and mentoring to make their dreams a reality. When young people are encouraged to imagine their own futures and actively work toward creating them, they will naturally spawn a more socially responsible and sustainable world in which to live.  And, if young people are supported at an early stage in their efforts, they will be more likely to succeed.  In this success, they serve as role models to other young people, and may even spark a movement of young changemakers. 

Supported by the Youth and Civil Society Initiative of Sir Ratan Tata Trust, Change Looms has received approximately sixty applications from across India each year since its launch and is currently in its third cycle.
