LFAI Cross-thematic Consultations and Dialogues

LFAI creates spaces for Fellows to connect and problem solve with other similar minded Fellows on relevant cross thematic concerns. These consultations -- held at local, national, and global levels -- are critical in helping fellows share their insights, strategies, and best practices in creating social impact.
Previous Consultations and Dialogues
Organized in partnership with the Asian Human Rights Commission – founded by Ashoka Fellow Basil Fernandez – this consultation focused on exploring and developing mechanism and safety nets for Fellows whose work brings them in opposition to vested interest groups and religious fundamentalists such as military governments or wealthy landowners. Fellows from Asia, Africa, and Mexico discussed ways to protect themselves, their families, colleagues as well the communities they serve. This Consultation led to the development of Ashoka’s Fellow Securities Program.
This dialogue was attended by a group of Indian Ashoka Fellows who shared their experiences and struggles in assuring land rights to marginalized communities. The dialogue centered on exchanging best practices from various campaigns that could be adapted and applied in various different contexts.
Fellows from South Asia shared their experiences and strategies of peace building, conflict prevention and resolution from their respective country contexts.
