Hybrid Value Chain™

Vision

Hybrid Value Chain aims to develop a framework for sustainable commercial partnerships where business and social organizations join forces to make critical products and services available to low-income citizens around the world without being limited by the artificial divide between both sectors.

In order to serve low-income markets profitably and with social impact, a new generation of partnerships that commercially link businesses and leading citizen sector organizations is necessary. Each partner creates economic and social value by leveraging each other’s core competencies. Differing from traditional "Corporate Social Responsibility" relationships, Hybrid Value Chains™ are commercial in nature with each partner receiving economic benefit according to their role and transaction in the partnership.

Our goal for the Hybrid Value Chain™ program is to "tip the system" and create a mind-shift among business leaders and social entrepreneurs. As a result, acceptance of the value created by commercial business-social partnerships to develop low-income markets becomes the norm. In the competitive environment we seek to ignite, scholars and the press will talk about this new kind of partnership, business consultants will develop new practices around this concept and companies and social entrepreneurs "fight" to implement them.
