The Nand & Jeet Khemka Foundation
The Nand & Jeet Khemka Foundation recognises that Social Entrepreneurship is a great strategic lever for development . To spread awareness about the philosophy and latent power of social entrepreneurship the Foundation aims to:
- Invest in social entrepreneurs through the Khemka Fellowship.
- Recognise and support social entrepreneurs through awards, fellowships, grants and other support mechanisms
- Create a social entrepreneur hub, which will be developed over time into a fund to leverage the most effective social entrepreneurs
Pioneering the profession of social entrepreneurship, Ashoka has awarded over 1,700 Ashoka Fellows in 62 countries across 5 continents. Ashoka Fellowships invest in exceptional ideas of individuals by helping them achieve large-scale social impact.The Nand & Jeet Khemka Foundation will seek out and develop long term, the highest potential new ideas and the entrepreneurial leaders behind them in the fields of rural development, environment, media, children and youth. In this first year, the Foundation would support 3 Khemka (Ashoka) Fellows and sponsor their stipends.
